The Healthy Off The Grinder

Organic Food Source

Many years ago, I purchased a health insurance policy that was offered only to small business owners, and at the time, it was the best deal around. Why? Because, as the agent told me, “small business owners can’t afford to get sick.”

There is a lot of truth to that statement, and this particular insurance company had discovered that business owners were less of a risk to insure than other segments of the population, so the policies were cheaper.

Staying healthy is an important business skill and when I find good tips and resources to keep you at peak performance I will pass them along to you.

This week, I have a very simple tip about ~ oatmeal! ~ and where to get large organic quantities of it relatively cheap.

Unless you’re on a low-carb diet, oatmeal is generally recognized as good for you and it regularly appears on “superfood” lists. I have eaten it every day for decades and it has the side benefit of being a “fast food” if you use the quick variety in a microwave (1-2 minutes and you’re done). The problem is finding the organic “quick” variety in bulk quantities at reasonable prices.

I have spent a lot of time searching for suppliers of organic oatmeal and found a terrific resource. They have a large selection of organic supplies and food in bulk (if you need 30lb. bags of raisins, or 50lb. sacks of chocolate powder, this is the place to get it!). The organic oatmeal was half of what other suppliers were charging. If you’re interested, check out The Grain Mill of Wake Forest. They ship nationally… I bought 50lbs. of oatmeal from their PA warehouse and that should take care of breakfast around here for a while!
